![]() Buy Cubase 7, i'll have full 64 bit support and i've read numerous reviews of PT users who have moved to Cubase and no longer have any issue loading the same amount of sample instruments Ideally, i would just buy and build another computer, but i don't currently live in an ideal world and funds won't allow, so i have to try and make do with as little as possible. I'm assuming that this is because PT isn't 64 bit as of yet, and with no mention of PT11 i feel that i need to do something now instead of hanging out for something that could take another year or more for all i know.Ģ40GB SSD (used for OS and current sessions)Įxternal FW800 G-Tech Mini 750GB (Used for all of my Kontakt libraries, other sample libraries and archived sessions) At present however, i'm often seeing the dreaded message in PT telling me that i need to increase my buffer size (it won't go any higher.). I dont ever really need more than 25 or so for most of what I do.Īnyway, thanks for getting me thinking outside the DAW again.I currently use Pro Tools 10 to compose various film, game and other orchestral scores that require a lot of virtual instruments. In Nuendo, or S1, all I gotta do is connect to the vep instance for the instruments I want in that project. I just need to add all VSTs on my VEP server and over time I can just keep adding single instrument instances and only enable what I want. I had been trying to do a disabled track template in Nuendo or track preset in S1, and not even use VEP, but kept coming back to how it was a big undertaking to get a template built, and I would have so many versions of it.Īfter watching your video, I starting thinking more about what you showed and a light went on. But, I like many features of Nuendo, too. And, i also like the audio editing in S1. I was leaning toward Studio One, just because I liked the drag and drop instrument presets over how that presets work in Cubase/Nuendo. I guess I kinda did when using Logic and my old macbook years back, but everything I read told me to try to have as few instances as possible on Windows. I never really thought about just working with an instrument/instance appraoch like you described. ![]() ![]() I was always kinda overwhelmed by giant VEP template ideas and then all the routing and clutter in Nuendo. ![]() ![]() Your workflow demonstration actually got me thinking. ![]()
